Project Background and Requirements
Nestled on a mountainous slope along the Three Gorges Reservoir, this homestay features brick-and-stone walls paired with expansive glass windows. The interior embraces wabi-sabi aesthetics: minimal finishes, solid wood paneling, and neutral cotton-linen fabrics. The owner requested furniture that downplays form to highlight natural textures and tactile qualities, while also resisting riverside humidity and enduring high-frequency use during peak seasons—all to be fully furnished before opening.
Solutions and Supporting Content
We use solid wood planks, reclaimed timber grilles, and rattan weaving as primary materials. The lobby features a large solid-wood tea table paired with low cotton-linen sofas and rattan screens to create an open reception area. The tea room is equipped with a long slab table, chairs with open-back designs, and floor-to-ceiling wooden shelving units. The breakfast hall includes round wooden tables and lightweight chairs, preserving unobstructed river views from the windows. Guest rooms are furnished with solid-wood bed frames, drawer cabinets, full-length coat racks, and floor mirrors. All wooden components receive sealed coating and moisture-proof treatment; upholstered elements use washable cotton-linen fabrics; hardware is selected for corrosion resistance to ensure consistent color matching across batches.
Delivery and Service Key Points
Schedule production in three batches: public areas, tea rooms, and guest rooms. Use reinforced packaging for mountain road delivery and schedule installation to avoid the soft furnishings and greenery entry period. Conduct room-by-room inspection upon completion, provide moisture protection and cleaning maintenance guidelines, and arrange follow-up checks before the peak season.
